into complaints the red cross is not doing enough to help victims of sandy. are donations getting to the people who need them? let's go "outfront." good evening, everyone. tonight, a rescisky affair. there are new questions about the affair that led cia director david petraeus to resign and when did he pose a national security risk. here's what we can tell you now. the affair came to light during an fbi investigation of so-called jealousy e-mail sent by paula broadwell to a woman in tampa named jill kelley. an official confirms to cnn -- to stop sending harassing e-mails to kelley, who along with her husband has known petraeus and their family for more than five years. that couple met the four star general when he was stationed at medil air force base in tampa. a description of the e-mails seems to validate what a friend of petraeus tells us, that petraeus felt broadwell had shown a possessiveness toward him. as to whether she gained any information during her relationship to petraeus, here's something we found. a speech she gave in october of 2006. here's what it had to say. >> had actually ha

without power two weeks after hurricane sandy slammed into the northeast. they're not the only ones suffering. folks in new york city usually head to coney island to line up for music park -- amusement park rides but now they're lining up just to get something to eat. jonathan hunt is there. jonathan, how is it going? >> reporter: extraordinary to see scenes like this in 20th century america. some people have just trying to get the basics of life. they're picking up canned goods over here. over here we have well, military-style meals ready to eat. gatorade bottles, cases of water. and everything is numbered. they're allowed to take two canned goods. one gatorade. up to a case of water and then there is laundry detergent further down there as well. a lot of these people live in the project buildings behind me, rick, where they have been struggling to get by for two weeks now since hurricane sandy hit. i have to say the spirit we found among most of the people here, while they acknowledge their difficulty they're all determined to push through. listen. >> we don't have any electricity

to the director is because hurricane sandy delayed the message. figure on that one. the fbi may be at her house tonight but they have been dragging their feet trying to move this. >> well, i think there's still a lot of questions that are to be answered as to the timeline, why certain things were done when. i think that's one of the big outstanding questions. but, you know, a lot of it gets back to the very beginning, which is the question i've heard a lot from folks of that just been reading our stories is why did the fbi start this investigation anyway? i get weird or annoying e-mails all the time and i don't run to the fbi and if i did i don't know that the fbi would do anything about it. that's another reason there's some i think gaps that need to be explained as to how this process began and where it ended up. >> of course, you have to go back to the fact there are four americans mured in the benghazi investigation. we don't want this to overshadowed but it's somewhat intertwined when you have the head of the cia, who is supposed to be doing the benghazi thing, is involved in the scandal.
